Minimalist tattoo ideas
Minimalist tattoos say a lot with very little: one line, one shape, plenty of skin. The secret is a design simple enough to stay clean and big enough not to blur.

Single-line portrait
A face, a pet or a pair of hands drawn in one continuous line. 6–10 cm on the forearm or upper arm.
Wave in a circle
A single wave or mountain inside a thin circle. Wrist, ankle or behind the ear.
Coordinates
The latitude and longitude of a place that matters, in a small typewriter font along the inner arm.
Tiny heart or star
A finger or wrist classic. Expect a touch-up on fingers after a year or two.
Geometric shape
A triangle or circle with one fine inner line: clean and modern on the inner bicep or ankle.
Small symbol
A semicolon, an infinity sign or an initial, all easy to read at a small size.
How it ages
The fewer lines a tattoo has, the more each line matters. Don't go too small: under about 2 cm, lines can merge into a blur within a few years. Leave at least 1 mm between parallel lines.
