Forearm tattoo ideas
The forearm is the most popular spot for a tattoo you actually get to see. It is a long, fairly flat canvas with little pain, so vertical designs and wraparound pieces both work well.

Compass and map lines
A round compass on the outer forearm with faint map lines fading toward the wrist. 10–14 cm.
Botanical stem
A single fern, lavender or wildflower stem along the inner forearm. 12–18 cm, fine line or black and grey.
Mountain band
A mountain range wrapping around the forearm like an armband. Keep the peaks simple so they read from a distance.
Snake and dagger
American traditional with bold outlines: a snake coiling around a blade. Ages beautifully on the outer forearm.
Script quote
One short line in a clean script on the inner forearm, facing you. Compare fonts in the Tattoo Font Generator first.
Koi and waves
A koi swimming up the arm with a few wind bars: the perfect start of a future Japanese sleeve.
How it ages
Forearms age well because the skin is stable and doesn't stretch much. The outer forearm gets a lot of sun, so use SPF 50 to keep black lines crisp, and leave space around fine details; tiny gaps close up over the years.
